The Indifferent Intellect

According to Andres Deja, Ken Anderson and background painter Al Dempster contributed to these color studies for The Jungle Book. Walt Disney opted for a light, airy jungle, since the story included mostly comedic sequences, so we have these bright, colorful scenes. My favorite is the lush river setting in the last piece. It reminds me of the line from “The Bear Necessities” which ends with Baloo’s wonderfully inviting sentiment “Go on…fall apart in my back yard.”
